a "why would I want this?" sort of thing. And javadoc's not the place for
that.

In other words, an overview that gives context to the javadoc.

I see what you mean. Something like the original release notes "It contains bla, bla and bla which do blabla". You still wouldn't find "Postgres LIMIT", but might at least have an idea which project to look in.

Exactly. Or if one were searching for, say "WebObjects" and "PayPal" one might find "Project Wonder includes bla, bla, bla, plus a cool wrapper for handling PayPal transactions." The first two hits (on those terms at present) are to the project's files, but don't make it easy to see and there's no sense of overall architecture.

As far as I know, not one of the WO developers at my firm are (or have ever been) on this list and none of them had heard of project wonder. Mostly they're java developers who fell into existing WO projects, where I came to java from WO.

There's also a powerpoint file which takes the better part of two hours to present, listing a ton of stuff. I'm going to WWDC, if there are enough people interested, we could give a presentation and someone could record that and we can put it on the site. Volunteers?

I'm not going to WWDC per se, but I live in the area and would definitely attend such an event.
