Helge,
Check your settings. Version 2.2 works just fine for me, the same as
it always has. This version also supports doing a diff within a line
rather than just showing that the line is different somewhere. This
is probably the source of the "ill-colored documentview". Under
preferences uncheck Highlight Differences (these are the new, "inside
the line" differences) and the GUI will look as it did previously.
