I opted to do my own serialization of EO's because I was getting too much stuff for other (non WO) consumers to swallow. Malcolm wrote an excellent article you can find here:

Is there anyway when you can serialize an EO so that the relationship information is not serialized with it, unless explicitly told to do so?

I've been working w/ the samples from the book but it seems like I'm getting some really malformed XML b/c the EO that I'm serializing has a lot of relationships in the Data model.

I hope this question is not too general.
