@mr_webobjects_at_gmail.com:
Didn't Steve mention that the next major release of Mac OS X will be called
Leopard? My guess: Leopard will bring you all fixes you might want! I also
have to hold myself now not falling from *my* chair laughing.
To be serious: I must say, that especially WebObjects Builder is more stable
in 5.3 even though there have popped up new "features" it even became a
little bit faster (or is that my new machine?). In certain circumstances
where WOBuilder usually crashed it now just hangs for several seconds to
become alife just after these seconds elapsed. Great! And EOModeler works
quite nicely after adding the missing templates for .java-class generation.
So not really a need for the old tools from my perspective. You can go
completely 5.3
All kind of known fixes have been mentioned here on the list AFAIK. You
*can* get all the stuff working. Sure it is unconvenient from the company
which produces our beloved app-server-dev-kit, but hey who cares.
I think the guys over there at A. have all the day full of work for their
transition to INTeL. ;-)
I'am happy that java is platform independent, so my guess is that some other
guys are actually very busy to port the Java VM to make it in-time for the
Leopard Release.
my 2 cents,
Helge
