Hello Everyone:
I saw the thread regarding Marketing WebObjects and best approaches. I am not a WebObjects programmer but we see the need in businesses where WebObjects can dramatically improve productivity and even bring down the stress level to some degree where having up-to-date information is critical.
By trade we are Apple Consultants and Mac OS X System Administrator. By night we are Tech Dreamers. Looking for ways on how we can communicate with one another more effectively.
Typically we go into companies and install their infrastructure and maintain it. We also pitch solutions to these companies that may encompass in a range of possibilities depending on their need. We determine these solutions by interviewing the entire company to fully understand the need so that the solution is correct and suited for them perfectly.
The question is how to market WO further. I think we are the answer to that question. I think teaming up with small or large companies such as ourselves is key. The IT consultants. It bridges supports and solutions together more seamlessly. Companies don't just want upgraded hardware anymore. They want access to their information quicker and easier. The solutions have to be simpler and precise that tell the entire story with one click. A direct hit for productivity.
As an example I've been interviewing local entertainment companies in regards to data and information processing. I have devised a list of needs all from Disney to MTV Networks to Lions Gates Films a common workflow solution. And when presented to them with this outline, they all have said this is the Holly Grail. This is what they need. The problem is the back end is expensive so I am trying to compare other costs to offset this. Our goal is to prove the solution is cost effective and necessary. I'm also seeking outside funding to move this direction forward. No doubt in my mind that WO is the best solution. The hard core object orientated programmers almost hate webobjects because it is so good. Nothing comes close.
I want to team up with developers like yourself and devise productive workflow solutions to companies and also tie this information closer to their vertical markets.
There so much work out there to be done.
