Anyway I have changed my hotel to Marriott which is right across the Moscone center.
It looks like a little better place and do not have to deal with those people on streets that much.
Only scary thing is Shopping center is right across the street and very much accessible to my wife :-)

May I recommend locking her in the room? :-P There are a LOT of things to buy in downtown SF...
