We do that for development and it work great. Oracle only tested the server but the OSX system works fine. There are some tricks to installing it on systems with 10.4. There are several web pages (including oracles site) on how to install on 10.4.x. The normal installer will NOT work. You just have to do a few of the final stages by hand since the gcc compiler is a newer version.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody has been able to run Oracle on their dev machines using OSX and NOT OSX Server? The doc's claim that only Server is supported, but my interests are only in simple testing while off my normal, local subnet. Thanks.
