Actually now I have tried again from command line and this is what I get:

Launching SolveIT.woa ...

-Dcom.webobjects.pid=10757

Note the process ID.

1054 [main] INFO er.javamail.ERJavaMail - ERJavaMail: finished initialization
1959 [main] WARN NSLog -

Then nothing.

Is the process still running? Try
ps | grep 10757
where 10757 is the pid from the start of the log file.

If the process is not running:
a) Is it possible to reboot the server? I have seen similar things happen recently and the Big Hammer of a reboot has worked
b) If a reboot is not possible, try killing all the WO processes (the java ones, the javawoservice ones, wotaskd, monitor, ALL of it) and restart. Does that help?

If you have not done this:
http://www.gvcsitemaker.com/gvc.webobjects/ faq&mode=single&recordID=41413&nextMode=list
Then do so and see if that shows any additional useful information.

Check the system logs for messages. java.log may show a JVM crash.

If the process is still running, follow the kill -QUIT part in
http://www.gvcsitemaker.com/gvc.webobjects/ faq&mode=single&recordID=41413&nextMode=list

That should show where it is hung up.

All the above is normal and the application has always worked. Anyone got any ideas?

That is all for starters.

Hi all,

I have an application that's been working perfectly for months. I've just made some adjustments to it and reuploaded it and now it won't start in JavaMonitor. I tried from the command line and got an error due to incorrect version of Java. I had obviously updated java on my Mac but not on the server. So I installed the same version of Java and made sure WO was updated to 5.2.4 on the server also. Now it will start fine from the command line, but still dies in JavaMonitor. I can't find any log files anywhere. Anyone encountered this before?

Kind regards,
David.
