To validate an EC, you can processRecentChanges() which flushes the cascading deletes and stuff and then validate the EOs in inserted/ updated/deletedObjects individually.

Validation of inserted/updated/deletedObjects individually was exactly what is was trying to do in my EOEditingContext.validateForSave(), and bumped into the problem of deletion rules not being processed yet.

Ironically, a quote from the EOEditingContext.processRecentChanges() API:

"... This method does nothing in Java Client applications."

:D

Thanks for the idea anyway...
