Writing a beginners tutorial, some D2W questions on Webassistant and ERAtachment

I am trying to write a tutorial for developing a webobjects application in WOLips. The idea would be to add the separate chapters as PDF's and Projects to the WODOC website, next to Pascal's podcasts.

The tool would be WOLiips and WebObjects 54x, plus assorted Frameworks (Wonder, LEWOStuff, whatever is needed). The audience would be the developer that knows it's way around in sql/ a computer language and some object oriented concepts, and has developed some web stuff in php/ perl/asp or whatever. It is not intended to be a complete overview of everything possible in webobjects, but it would give a feeling how to set up a project, do a frontend/backend and give people a feeling of the tools and how to extend them themselves.

The application would be a shop, with a D2W backend for the products (with ERAttachment for the product-pictures), fulfilment (some kind of app that could run in an ipod touch) and some statistics app that would make use of displaygroups and SVG. The frontend would make use of EROpenID, WOgooglecheckout and WOPaypalcheckout, some PDF invoiceing and product-barcodes from LEWOstuff. And I want everything to work. Not 12 code examples that do not work together. More or less the MS-Access Northwind example (does that still exist?) or the Filemaker Templates.

At least that is the idea for now.

I started with a data model with ERPrototypes and using subclassed objects, which link to mysql/postgresql/frontbase/openbase.

That tutorial is nearly finished, so I am starting with the DirectToWeb part. On Leopard, the DirectToWeb Assistant does not work. Is there something I am missing that is available on Leopard/WO54 that could make DirectToWeb the nice and easy way to quickly set up an interface to a database?

(and no, Rule Editor is not an easy and quick tool if you're a beginner and you don't want to shoot yourself in the foot)

Another question is how I could incorporate the picture ERAttachment upload in the D2W interface. Does anybody already have an example or short explanation?

PS: if you're interested in helping me out in proofreading or in developing one of sub-projects (backend/shop/fulfillment/ statistics) please let me know. I am sure I know a lot not.
