XHTML Strict Validation errors WOTextfield, WOImage

| Hi all,
I've noticed that certain components do not validate on w3c's validator. Specifically, html tags for <img> and <input> never close. Anytime I use a WOTextfield I get multiple validation errors with XHTML 1.0 Strict as a result. Is there a reason WO does this, is it a known issue, or am I doing something incorrectly?
