if you do that then Oracle Support will not support you, they will
require you to download a new version that the jar has never been
renamed. I have been through this on calls with them.

version numbers in class file names is just the convention
everywhere else on earth except the country of Oracle ... like you
said, that's great that they put a version number SOMEWHERE, but
really, how often are you identifying jar files using the jar
API's? pretty good odds the more likely case is that you're
staring at a jar file in a Libraries folder and you're wondering
why oracle isn't working ...
