What is it I've forgotten to do that is required when your IP address changes? The host is setup as 127.0.0.1.

The host should be the primary IP on that machine NOT the loopback address.

I've been using 'localhost' on my web site for years and this server has gone through numerous IP address changes. I did not have any issues with my WebObjects apps/setup. Maybe localhost and 127.0.0.1 is different.

'changeip' is the script that you should run when you change IP addresses on OS X servers. It does not change the IP address in the Network prefs. Do 'changeip -checkhostname' and it will give you a nice explanation what you need to do. This addresses things most importantly in your Open Directory setup.

I recently changed ISPs and have changed IP addresses. My new ISP makes my reverse lookup addresses looks like aliases, (gumble, grumble).

$ host 216.75.225.2
2.225.75.216.in-addr.arpa is an alias for 2.255-0.225.75.216.in- addr.arpa.
2.255-0.225.75.216.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer www.dyned.com.

'changeip -checkhostname' now tells me my DNS is broken.

Type hostname at the command line to get the correct name.

Better make sure your DNS is working. :-)

Thanks
