Hello Andrew,
Thanks for the reply. I have another doubt regarding this migration.
Actually for WebObjects5.2.4 we are suing Windows XP as our
development environment. Can we use the same environment for
dveloping applications using WebObjects 5.4.3? In google I have
found that we can work on WebObjects5.4.3 only with Mac OS X 10.5.3
or later with Xcode 3.1.
You can use WOInstaller.jar to install WO 5.3 or 5.4 on Windows, and I
think someone made a Windows installer, but the 5.4 license do say
that legally you need to develop on a Mac. So you would need to use
BootCamp or other on a Mac to develop on XP...
Please add your suggestions on this.
Thanks and Regards,
Mallesh

Application
Hello Mallesh;
There are no fixed steps. It is more a case of WO 5.4 being a
"natural progression" from WO 5.2.4 -- so the best thing is to
download WO 5.4.3, migrate your code base to be used with eclipse/
ant/ maven if you have not done so already, work through any issues
by testing. Once you have your product stable on WO 5.4.3, you
can upgrade your deployment system on Solaris and then re-deploy.
cheers.
We have our application developed in WebObjects 5.2.4 and
deployed on Solaris 8 with Apache 1.3 webserver.
Now we are planning to migrate our application from
WebObjects5.2.4 to WebObjects 5.4 on Solaris 10 server with
Apache2.2 webserver.
Please advise me whether this migration is possible or not, if it
is possible please provide me the steps(or links where I can get
the info) for doing this migration.
