D2W : Using ERExcelLook
It appears that I have a problem with the Rules. I noticed that
before I created the user.d2wmodel, I saw the errors in the console
that the file wasn't found. then I created the file with rule
modeler and the error went away but it doesn't appear to be applying
my rule. (i was asking for only 2 columns). I saw no errors. I
expected that I would see an error something like (can not find key
'x'). there was no error produced and instead of getting an excel
file with 2 columns, it output all the columns (as if there were no
rule present).
I was hoping to show an error but there were none showing. What can
I show you to help figure this out.

Ted,
Unfortunately I haven't completed the 'getting started' podcast and I
jumped right into the ERExcelLook one (I blame David Holt... ;-)
Anyway, what might be happening is that your user.d2wmodel is not
getting updated.
Check the user.d2wmodel file in build/YourProject.woa/Contents/
Resources/user.d2wmodel if it doesn''t contain your changes then
that's your problem.
RuleModeler communicates with WOLips using the WOLips server so if you
haven't yet, you'll need to configure that:
1. Go to Eclipse->Preferences->WOLips->WOLips Server and make sure
it's enabled and make note of the server port and password
2. Apply any changes
3. Go to RuleModeler -> Preferences and set the port and password to
match the WOLips Server values from above.
To be safe, quite Eclipse and RuleModeler and then launch Eclipse
first followed by RuleModeler.
This should make the rule files you edit update for running
applications.
