http://www.wocommunity.org/webobjects_screencasts.html

You can also find them at the Apple developer website

http://developer.apple.com/videos/access/ if you sign up as a Mac developer.

and WOWODC lectures if you want to buy some specific ones.

Definitely check out the screencasts on the webobjects community website. You should be able to get a pretty good idea about what you're in for. You should be able to make a more informed decision yourself. Personally I hated developing in PHP by the end of two years with it and I am very happy I switched. You have to know there is a learning curve associated with how to do things the WO way. Having said that, I find that the tools are much better now than when I learned and you can learn the API a lot easier using WOLips in my experience.

This is not necessarily true. It depends on how complicated your application is. Some things are a lot easier than PHP, namely the database and SQL handling.

Can be deployed on any hardware. You do have to develop using Mac hardware.

You can scale your app all the way to the same size as iTunes store, Apple Store, the iPhone app store, etc etc. Again simple deployment is easy, but it can get complicated if your needs are complex.
