AjaxProgress with ExcelGenerator

Hi,

I'm trying to combine AjaxProgress or AjaxLongResponse with ExcelGenerator.  I like the flexibility of ExcelGenerator but since some tasks will take some time, how do update the status from within ExcelGenerator and report this back to the thread.  Any examples would be great.
