I just want to revisit this to say thank you. I had never heard of scss until this email and now I can't imagine life without it. I've wanted variables in CSS for the longest time and the ability to nest your classes makes the file so much easier to read.

Then I break that down into components in WebObjects using the Component Builder in WOLips. Those components are then re-assembled into pages. If you are making full pages in WO, you are doing it wrong. :-) Because of the component nature of the web UI, WYSIWYG editors are not really practical in development (e.g. it would be really hard to write one that would be useful). I have found Xyle Scope ( http://culturedcode.com/xyle/) useful for debugging and tweaking CSS. A CSS framework like blueprint ( http://www.blueprintcss.org/) can be very useful. Also have a look at Compass and Sass ( http://compass-style.org/, http://sass-lang.com/).
