The statement is closing at random times and it eventually ends up hanging eof and locking the instance. It looks like others have found an issue with the
postgres jdbc driver doing this under heavy load, it’s all in the statement pooling (some kind of race condition). I’ve been trying to debug this for months. I’m on pg 9.0.

Out of curiosity, what sort of issues are you seeing? We use postgresql here, but it's old. (8.3.x)
