Hi Markus,
I'd say this is caused by the dreaded WOBootstrap.jar being absent in the customer build environment. When it is absent, the pre-5.2 startup script is being used.
That being said, the old script works fine for me, as long as HOME and NEXT_ROOT are set and _all_ framework dependencies are embedded.
