I got this far and the ssh -X username@redhatbox_ip has me in a

Now how do I do the equivalent of a startx (when local on the redhat)
and have the desktop display on my OSX/X11
You can run any X application, and it will appear on your Mac. Try gvim
or xterm for a simple test. Launching 'gnome-session' should start
Gnome.
What ports do I need to have open in our firewall?
Nothing but ssh (port 22)
