However, xemacs hangs just as before, if you so much as try to open a file.
I thought we had established earlier in this thread that there is
nothing to fix in Fink. Many people are using both the "stable" and
"unstable" versions of XEmacs from Fink without problems, and this
regardless of whether the "stable" version is compiled from source or
installed from a precompiled binary, and regardless of the version of
Apple's X11 beta.
Your problem must have some other cause which as yet remains undiscovered.
The only time I got errors similar to yours was when I had a xaw3d
library compiled while a different version of X11 was installed. I know
you verified that your xaw3d is up-to-date, but I still suspect some
other library, maybe sitting in /usr/local/lib, that was compiled
against an earlier version of X11.
