I thought we had established earlier in this thread that there is
nothing to fix in Fink. Many people are using both the "stable" and
"unstable" versions of XEmacs from Fink without problems, and this
regardless of whether the "stable" version is compiled from source or
installed from a precompiled binary, and regardless of the version of
Apple's X11 beta.
Your problem must have some other cause which as yet remains
undiscovered.
Agreed. What about a conflict with your XDarwin install? I'm still
interested in learning if a fink install of emacs w/X11 support works
...
