Bash login shells with X11 (executing .bash_profile, .bashrc)

I'm new to the list so apologies if this has already been covered (the archives have some mention of this but I wasn't able find an answer to my problem).

Has anyone been able to get .bash_profile to be executed without having to specify "xterm --login"? When I start up an xterm from the X11 Beta, .bash_profile doesn't get run at any time.

Most other terminals/window managers (OroborOSX/XDarwin/xterm, Terminal.app, KDE) execute the login script at some point before you start any subsequent bash shells. I don't want to rely on using .bashrc--it's not the same thing. By the way, I set my shell using NetInfo Manager.
