I'm using a powerbook with 1156x768 native screen, together with an
external 10280x1024 flat panel monitor. I have configured the two
Displays so that the native screen is "on the left" and the external
screen is on the right, with bottom borders aligned, and the menu on
the rightmost (bigger) screen.
When using X11.app and quartz-wm, (both 0.1 and 0.2.1), I get funny
window behaviour when I try to drag any window (say, xterm) over the
boundary between the screens. If I start with the xterm fully in the
rightmost screen, touching the menu bar, and then drag it to the left,
as soon as it hits the leftmost screen, its y-coordinate (as reported
by xwininfo) suddenly jumps by about 250 points (depends), and the part
that still is in the rightmost screen jumps by this number of pixels
down -- leaving the mouse curser sadly hanging high above.
To my mind, the implementation in OroborOSX is better: do not change
the y-coordinate, but let the top of the xterm window move out of
display space in the left dislay.
There are (conceivably related) oddities in window placement when I use
Matlab though X11.app and quartz-wm, also, the initial Matlab plot
windows going partly out of my screen.
I'm using OSX 10.2.3.
