Is there any security issue with clearing all the checkboxes in the
Security preferences pane of X11? I only use ssh, no xhost. It
(changing IP addresses, etc) has been working fine for me since the
second beta, without having to do the "defaults write" workaround.

X is refusing to work when your hostname changes as a security

a way to get OSX to ignore the new host name, but I haven't found it

The same problem affects Linux laptops, and in principle should affect
anyone running an X server on a laptop on any operating system. Maybe
Apple
can come up with a way around this problem that doesn't compromise
security?

I use X11 locally on my Powerbook, but I do not use any remote

tried various settings in the X11 preferences security tab, but I

that sometimes I am unable to launch new X programs or to raise

mainly as
a way to keep XEmacs running all the time. But when the error
occurs, I
cannot save any files in XEmacs (or any other X application) and can
only
regain control by quitting the X11.app.
Is there a way around this?
