chsh /bin/sh
should do the trick;)
trt
It works - but I will change it to get my environment working the way
I want. I have someone here with me who knows what he's doing helping
me now :)
Thanks for all the pointers.

This is the standard xinitrc provided:
gtate% more /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
#!/bin/sh
# $Id: xinitrc,v 1.1 2003/01/29 00:07:55 jharper Exp $
userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=XINITDIR/.Xresources
sysmodmap=XINITDIR/.Xmodmap
If it works, don't change it, but I would have expected "XINITDIR" to
be "$XINITDIR".
The other comments about differences between tcsh and sh are, of
course, also relevant and correct.
