x11 and a french keyboard

hello,

i am wondering where i can specify my keyboard type.

i am using a french version of MacOSX and a powerbook. my keyboard acts like an american keyboard ('qwerty') and not a french one.

i have looked in the traditional places for the config, but haven't had any luck.

does anyone know where to find the config file? does anything special need to be placed in there?
