Uh? Emacs 21.2.1 via Fink does the right thing with delete (US kbd) on an xterm as I tested today. I have no xmodmap changes at all.

My apologies, you are correct. My fink install of Emacs works fine in tty-mode in an xterm. My personal CVS build (21.3.50.3) works as well.


BTW, the uControl program mentioned earlier that remaps Caps Lock to Control (among other things) is working well for me so far. Looks like I owe someone some beer...
