Oracle X11 apps from sun broken with quartz-wm...

  • Subject: Oracle X11 apps from sun broken with quartz-wm...

There is a problem when trying to launch Oracle development apps with the
quartz-WM.

1. SSH or telnet over to my Sun server
2. export display
3. launch forms designer (f60desm)

You instantly get the oracle errors:
FRM-91111: Internal Error: window system startup failure.
FRM-10039: Unable to start up the Form Builder.

Anything else will work fine (xterms, netscape, etc.)
It's like oracle apps are making some strange call that the quartz-wm
doesn't respond to.

When looking up this error on oracles support site (metalink) you'll see a
lot of messages about GNOME not working and such, and to use the KDE
instead. If I kill off quartz-wm and launch the sawfish window manager
instead, everything works, so it's a problem with the quartz-wm, not X11.

Any ideas?

Chris
