You should have a crash catcher log in ~/Library/Logs/CrashCatcher. If so, please log a bug at http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter. If you have a reproducible or semi-reproducible case, please detail it in the bug report.

I just had a bizarre experience: I copied some formatted text
from MS Word and pasted it into an emacs window. The result,
rather than converting the formatted text into plain text with
some extra funny characters, as I am used to, was that the
window manager (quartz-wm) died, leaving X11 running but with
unadorned, unmovable, unsizeable windows. I was able to
go into an xterm window and type "quartz-wm &" and restart the
window manager; now all is normal. But, what odd behavior! Has
anyone else had this happen? Seems like a bug...

p.s. I was able to repeat the performance. This time I had to go to terminal.app to restart quartz-wm. But interestingly I got the following error message from quartz-wm. Apple, please take note:

n% 2003-01-27 15:11:43.788 quartz-wm[2167] *** Uncaught exception: <NSCharacterConversionException> Conversion to encoding 30 failed for string "(ne/nb) ~ (4/\\u03c0)(niw/..."
