I hope that this is not a gross breach of etiquette (and fully expect to
endure the brunt of your scorn if it is), but I have learned so much
from these lists (and others) over the last two years, that I feel it is
time to give back. Also, since I always wished that this site existed,
perhaps some of you have as well. I hope that it is at least in keeping
with the spirit of these lists. I have been working on this in my spare
time and would like to invite any of you who are interested to
participate.
Educators and students,
EdTech.ws is a free web portal intended for K-12 and Higher Education
students, teachers, administrators, EdTech coordinators, and IT staff
to share their experiences in the field of Educational Technology.
An EdTech.ws account is not required to use the site. Anyone can browse
the site Events, and site News, or use the Search feature. Other
features of the site are easily accessible by performing a simple
search feature. For instance, a search for "forum" will reveal 12
discussion forums ranging in topic from practical curriculum issues to
technical cross-platform integration issues.
Right now, anyone can post to the forums and anywhere else discussion
is allowed. This letter is your invitation to participate. Please
contribute!
This site is in its infancy, but is ready for use. The benefit we will
all derive from EdTech.ws will be directly related to how much effort
we each put into it.
Educators, technicians, and the students they serve (or work with) are
forced to 're-invent the wheel' far too often. If you are having a
problem, search for the answer at EdTech.ws. If you don't find it, be
sure to post your question. We will make every effort to address the
questions ourselves, and it may very well be that another visitor knows
the answer already and will share it on-line. In turn, you too can post
the answers to problems you have encountered.
To access all parts of the site and make additional contributions (such
as your own EdTech.ws homepage, News, and Events), sign up for an
EdTech.ws account. For a limited time, we are offering a free EdTech.ws
e-mail alias to anyone who makes a contribution to the site.
EdTech.ws is free and will always be free. It is administered and
hosted by Mark Douglas Wagner, Ed Tech Coordinator at Estancia High
School and candidate for a Ph.D. in Educational Technology at Walden
University.
He thanks you for your time, and asks you to please pass this invitation
on to your fellow educators and students.
