The instructions for exporting an X11 session using SSH
as described in the release notes do not have a correspondence
in connecting to an OpenVMS system as SSH is not implemented
(at least to my knowledge, just RSH and RLOGIN). Has anyone had
the opportunity to use the X11 application in association with
Decwindows-Motif on OpenVMS? I know there are several hardware
and software packages which connect to this O/S (such as NCD
terminals and Hummingbird or eXcursion on Wintel platforms),
so there must be a modicum of cross platform support.
Thank you.

I asked a similar question on 20-Feb-2003 "Newbie Mac OS X X11 VMS
DECterm question"
There were two excellent replies from Thomas R. Treadway and Michael
Fleming.
I got it working sort-of after that. It was fairly slow and jerky and I
never succeeded in mapping enough keys from my TiBook to make a
particular VMS application do my bidding. I had a real alpha a few
meters away most of the time and it was too much trouble.
Post back if you can't find them in the archives. I'm sure the two
authors won't mind if I re-post their replies.
There *is* an SSH for VMS. Somewhere
