Yup, looks the same to me too.
The difference, which I neglected to notice, was that it was linked off
the Panther web page,
http://www.apple.com/macosx/panther/
which has a snippet on the bottom right :

Panther will include a final X11 client for Unix-based applications,
improved NFS/UFS, FreeBSD 5 innovations as well as support for popular
Linux APIs, IPv6 and other important acronyms.
I know I'm being pedantic, but shouldn't Apple say that Panther will
include a final X11 _server_? I'm hoping that it will ship with
several clients...
You're not being pedantic at all.
I believe that in order to use X Windows effectively and comfortably,
and without getting confused, it is necessary to understand the
relationships between the various components, i.e., server, window
manager(s), clients.
If Apple is indeed including a server but calling it a client, they
will be doing a major disservice to those among their customers who
are new to X Windows.
Kind of like referring to the engine under the hood of your
automobile as a "passenger".
