If you read the archives, you'll notice that Apple folks are well aware
of the problem. I don't know what their time table looks like to fixing
this particular bug, but they do know about it.
This one takes about 10 seconds to fix in the sources (plus some time to
figure out where to look). Here is the relevant cvs log from
anoncvs.xfree86.org for the file xc/config/cf/darwin.cf:

Define CSRG_BASED for Darwin. This fixes xman so it does not display
PostScript and does other good things (Torrey T. Lyons).
