Hello: I'm going to add my 2-cents-worth. [And Ramble <:) ] I'm
50-years-old and literally didn't know a thing about computers until a
year ago(February). I chose Mac because it was "friendly"and because
professionals in the photography, graphics and music industries favored
it. (I assumed they had done their research before choosing an OS)
I too, at one time, new almost every file on my system -with OS 9.
Because , early on, I got into the Harddrive and looked at almost
everything. Clicked on this and that and got into all kinds of
trouble! I rebuilt my system, I don't know how many times. But I was
to a point where I knew every file and folder; knew if something was
out of place, and knew- and it happened- if something was "placed" on
my system. After purchasing Jaguar, I have , indeed, been on another
learning journey.
Recently I have installed Gimp , Filmgimp, Open Office and just days
ago gnome and WindowMaker. To me this is all just amazing and
exciting. I see the possibilities it has opened up. (OS X and X11)
Looking back, OS 8 and 9 look basic. Since 10.2.4 my system is as
stable as it ever was with OS 9 -maybe better. I was used to
downloading, clicking on a file and installing it! What a change!
I no longer have a classic environment installed.
I too have spent many hours looking at folders and files and wondering
what they are for. I can't say it hasn't been very frustrating at
times. But with just a few helping hands from this site, I have a new,
exciting and amazing system to use and learn about. I'm even
considering learning Python programming!
Thanks and Best Wishes to all.

Inside the atom 99.999% is also empty space. So, we can surely say:
