While they are removed if X11 exits normally, they are still left
hanging around if the application exits abnormally. Thus, in a shared
environment, subsequent users cannot use X11.
It's easy to simulate:
ps aux|grep login
sudo kill "pid-of-login"
This does a "force logout" ...
