Depends on what you mean, of course :-}.
1) The phrase "on X11" really doesn't mean anything. Do you mean "on
Mac OS X"? "On Darwin"? Either of these, using an X11 window manager?
2) You can't run Linux binaries on Mac OS X or Darwin.
3) You can recompile many Unix (and, therefore, Linux) applications for
Mac OS X/Darwin, and they run just fine. See the websites for the Fink
project (http://fink.sourceforge.net) and DarwinPorts
(http://www.opendarwin.org/projects/darwinports) for two alternatives
(each provides already-ported applications, and, modulo bugs and
configuration problems, it's simple to download, build, and install
such applications). Each project has a list of ported applications for
you to choose from.
