X11 version in Panther

I compiled the X11.app v1 when it was available a while back. When I
upgrade to Panther will the version that ships with it be newer than the
version I compiled? I am mainly interested in whether I will need to
recompile software I use that depends on libraries in the X11 directories. I
had to when I changed from beta 3 to v 1 for one program. I figure the
change from 10.2.8 to 10.3 might necessitate some recompilations also, not
just X-based programs. 10.1->10.2 certainly did.
