you call it "insane"?
The same reason that bash somehow gets the appelation "more standard".
It's an expression of his preference for the bash shell and,
intentionally or not, troll bait to start a shell flame war.
If he finds tcsh to be insane, let him live in that world. You'll be
happier :-)
