Check to see if root has been enabled:
start NetInfo Manager (/Applications/Utilities) and select under the
Security menu to enable root and set password.

Hi,
I need to change to root to install some tools (e.g. fink stuff), but
I don't remember setting
any passwd other than my own account when setting up X11 for Mac OS X.
How can I find out my root pass for my machine (specific to X11?)?
Allow my stupid question. I'm a brand new user of Mac X11.
