To install fink all you need to authenticate is the name of an
administrator account and it's password if you are using terminal type
sudo -s give your password at the prompt and you will be logged in as
root. (if you are the administrator)

Hi,
I need to change to root to install some tools (e.g. fink stuff), but
I don't remember setting
any passwd other than my own account when setting up X11 for Mac OS X.
How can I find out my root pass for my machine (specific to X11?)?
Allow my stupid question. I'm a brand new user of Mac X11.
