- Thread-topic: trouble mounting CDROMs after 10.3.5 update
Has anyone had trouble mounting CDROMs recently, presumably after the 10.3.5 update?
Even more strange, I don't seem to have an /etc/fstab file, and there's no device called /dev/cdrom (should there be?).
When I insert a CD (that was burned to be readble on any machine) into the internal drive, or an external drive (LaCie CD-RW) via FireWire, nothing happens. The only way I was able to eject the CD from the internal drive was doing Fn-F12, since nothing was visible from the Desktop and nothing showed up in /Volumes. Same problem with the external drive, except Fn-F12 doesn't even work.
I have a 400 MHz Ti Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.3.5. I only noticed this problem after the 10.3.5 upgrade.
Mike
