X11 freezes

Hi,
I am new to this mailing list. I am using X11 on a new powermac G5 running
OSX 10.3.6. I have the problem that Eric Miller described in his note "X11
freezes" and would like to know how to track this problem down and fix it.
X11 starts up fine but after some time for no obvious reason it hangs and
I get this error message on the console:
quartz-wm[4083] *** -[NSCFArray toplevel_id]: selector not recognized
quartz-wm: caught exception: NSInvalidArgumentException - ***
