Hi Luc, I never actually figured this one out, nor has anyone else,
to my knowledge. I ended up removing Mac's X11.app and installing
XFree86 (v4.4.0-13) via fink. I have no more problems, I'm running
the OroborOSX window manager (http://oroborosx.sourceforge.net), cut
and paste works, etc.
I "uninstalled" X11.app by just removing these directories, as per
these shell commands:
sudo rm -rf /usr/X11R6
sudo rm -rf /etc/X11
sudo rm -rf /Applications/X11.app
Then I was able to do a clean fink install of XFree86 and install
OroborOSX, which is a Mac app you have to get from the sourceforge
page above.
