Does no one else at all experience this problem?
Yes, I see what you're talking about - happens with a mouse too, but
it's obviously easier to do by accident with a trackpad.
How to reproduce the effect: hit command-~ (to switch X11 window),
but click the mouse/trackpad before releasing the keys. It could take
a few goes to get it happen - seems to be rather dependent on
timing... (I've found the most effective way to ensure it happens is
to hold down command-~, causing the windows to flick through focus,
and just randomly click in X11 windows until it stops working.)
I'd guess it has something to do with the window focus trying to
switch in two ways at once - first, through command-~, and also
through the mouse click, causing quartz-wm to get confused.
Result: X11 windows no longer respond to keyboard/mouse input. (Still
possible to switch window using the Window/Dock menu, but it doesn't
help get it going again.)
Looks like it's time to submit a bug report...
There's already a bug in the database regarding this, I wasn't able to
reproduce it when I tried. It doesn't look like your steps work for me
either.. which windows did you have open when doing this?
John
