I use x11 on a powerbook G4 with panther to access unix applications at
work from home. I am running a CAD application (IDEAS) and porting the
screen to my powerbook. I can't run the application with OGL due to
device errors. But I can successfully run the application using X3D
drivers. The graphics are fine and everything works except the dynamic
graphics rotation, pan and zoom function keys.
On powerbooks functions 1-5 mapped to screen dimming, sound, numlock.
To operate the function keys I have to hold down the function key at
the same time.
While, the application recognizes that I have pressed the function key,
the application hangs with continuous flashing as if for keys
repeatedly (hold and repeat). I have to wait for several minutes until
all the commands clear. I can't dynamically control the display. I
think the problem is that there is no X3D driver.
Does anyone have a suggestion for solving this problem.
Thanks for all the help.
