Interesting. The cut and paste is nasty, I agree. Have you submitted
any bug reports to Apple about these? Have they responded?
I agree it feels like an alpha release, not a 1.0 release.

Just my 2 cents. X11 has not crashed on me for a long time, and I use
it a lot, although mainly for the same thing each time. What
specifically crashes your application? Have you submitted bug reports

I guess I have the following problems:
1. The wrong keystroke while accidentially pressing the track-pad can
prevent all keyboard/mouse input. Restart required.
2. If I try to use an X11 application to soon after waking from
hibernation it refuses to create new windows anymore. Restart
required.
3. Just today I discovered another mysterious "touch the track-pad at
the
wrong time" event which forced all keyboard commands to a fixed window.
Restart required.
4. Cut and paste out of X11 is a mess. As for trying to cut and paste
when emacs is in the picture, oh dear.
5. If you try to reposition a brand new X11 window it repositions all
the
other windows as well. This effect seems to fade with time over a
period
of about 5-10 seconds.
6. The Applications Customize editor is a joke. (Can anyone tell me
what
the "shortcut" entry does?)
I think that's everything that's important. Other than that it seems
to
work ok and I use it every day all day. I've logged most of these to
Apple and I may have had a request for further information on one of
them
(can't remember right now), but I'm getting a bit tired of it now.
Compared with the rest of the system, X11 feels like an uncomfortable
afterthought.
