This is possibly a quartz-wm problem, but maybe someone here has run into
it. I'm running Panther with the Mac version of X11 (v1.0) and quartz-wm.
X11 starts fine and runs well for a time, but after a while, and for no
obvious reason, it hangs and I get this error in the console log:
quartz-wm[4083] *** -[NSCFArray toplevel_id]: selector not recognized
quartz-wm: caught exception: NSInvalidArgumentException - ***
-[NSCFArray toplevel_id]: selector not recognized
After that, I can no longer get focus on any X11 windows, i.e. can't move
or raise them or type in them. I am also unable to start new windows from
the menubar.
Listing the processes shows that quartz-wm is still running after this
happens. I can also use all the menubar menus and quit X11. The window
manager works fine again after restarting (until this happens again).
It seems to happen when I switch window focus, either from one X11 window
to another or from a different Mac app window to an X11 window, but other
than that I can't pinpoint a cause (and it just randomly happens after
happily using X11 for anywhere from five minutes to two hours).
Thanks for any help,
Eric
