cannot subscript something of type `<data variable, no debug info>'

How can I print this variable in gdb when I'm getting
cannot subscript something of type `<data variable, no debug info>'

I've tried the gdb console, and xcode, but I'm not making any headway. Nor do I understand why this variable is not listed as a "global"?
